Our resident Mixologist started in the bar business in 1984 as a bouncer at the world famous Hard Rock Cafe Los Angeles. He wound up behind the bar after telling the owner, Peter Morton, that he was waiting for his chance to mix drinks. From that moment, he has never looked back.
Steve Calabro is a true "bartender". He has worked for The Hard Rock Cafe, The Tao Group, and V3. He has designed drinks for Bacardi and Izzie. He has consulted bar owners and movie executives.
He has been a competition fighter, Film editor, and an aspiring Chef. He has remodeled homes, been a real estate investor, can fix almost anything and absolutely LOVES to design new drinks and develop new twists on old recipes.
He has worked in the U.S., England, Australia and the Czech Republic. He has traveled to Europe, Asia, the South Pacific and all over the United States.
"Very few people know what it's like to have a truly hand crafted cocktail. It's a shame so many bartenders rely on speed instead of ingredients and flavor."
He has consulted, trained and competed with some of the best bartenders in the world and how we have him as our in-house expert for all things alcohol.
Steve has worked as a consultant for alcohol and non-alcohol companies to demonstrate and design new tastes and combinations of flavors.
He is currently working with Bacardi brands as a judge and MC of their Bartender Shake Off competitions and is developing a show for television that takes viewers into the world of Nightclub mixology.
If you are looking for the Big Daddy of Bartending, look no further. We have him and are happy you are enjoying his unique brand of coaching.
From all of us here at Eat Drink or Die,
We give you our very own "Drink Slinger", Steve Calabro. < less
