KOREAN ALL BEEF MARINADE

SPECTACULAR MARINADE FOR MANY DIFFERENT CUTS OF BEEF
Takes 15 minutes, start to finish. Makes about 1 cup of marinade

Ingredients

5 cloves garlic, minced
5 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons sesame or vegetable oil
2 tablespoons cooking sherry
¼ cup beef broth
¼ cup (scant) sugar
4 scallions, chopped, including green
Pepper
Dash Tabasco
2 pounds meat

Directions

This is a spectacular marinade for thinly-sliced steak, “pulgogi” or short ribs(flaken) called “kalbi.” This marinade works for 2 pounds of meat. Marinate the steak for at least 2 hrs; the ribs for at least six hrs. Broil the meat, serve with rice. Two pounds steak; 4 servings; 2 pounds rib: 2 servings.

Variation: An excellent quick and easy variation- use ground beef. 1) Combine all ingredients, except beef and garlic. 2) Substitute garlic powder for clove garlic and mix with 2 pounds ground beef. 3) Brown the beef. 4) Add the sauce and cook on a low-medium flame for 15 minutes.
