Chef Salad

Takes 30 minutes, start to finish. Serves 6.
 

Ingredients

1 cut clove garlic
½ head lettuce, broken in pieces
12 bunch watercress
¼ thinly sliced cucumber
2 chopped hard-cooked eggs
¼ cup chopped celery
6 sprigs chicory
12 rolled anchovy filets
¼ cup thinly sliced American or Swiss cheese
¼ cup French dressing

Directions

Rub wooden salad bowl with cut side of garlic. 

Arrange other ingredients in bowl, sprinkled with dressing. 

Toss lightly with wooden fork and spoon.
