Turkey Chili
Best turkey chili ever! Easy to double this recipe.
Ingredients
2 1/2 lbs turkey - ground, 7% lean, white/dark mix
1 red onion - chopped
package sliced mushrooms
Carol Shelby's Original Texas Chili Mix - use only 1/2 the salt in the packet
2 cans - 14 1/2 oz diced tomatoes - either Red Gold chili ready or plain diced for not as spicy
1 bottle of beer - any kind
1/2 can water
Beans on side, cheddar, and oyster crackers.
Directions
Saute turkey with onion. Drain liquid. Add seasoning packet from chili mix, 1/2 packet of salt, tomatoes, beer, water and mushrooms. Bring to a boil for about 10 minutes. Simmer, covered about an hour. 10-15 minutes before serving mix flour packet with cold water and form paste. Add to chili to thicken sauce. Bring back to boil. Simmer
Prep time - 20 minutes
