Pear Ginger Crisp
Like an apple crisp, but pear, and exquisite
Ingredients
6 pears -- peeled, cored and sliced 1/2 inch thick1/2 cup pecans, toasted and chopped
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup light brown sugar
Pinch of cinnamon and salt
6 tbsp. butter, room temperature
3 tbsp. sugar + 1 tsp.
1 1/2 tsp. grated ginger
Juice of 2 lemons
Zest of 1 lemon

Directions
Topping: combine the flour, brown sugar, 4 tsp. of white sugar, cinnamon and salt, cut in butter and nuts until crumbly.
In another bowl add grated ginger and lemon juice and zest and remaining sugar to the sliced pears.
Bake at 375 degrees in a 2 1/2 quart dish, bake until golden and fruit is bubbling, approximately 35-45 minutes.
Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
