Gum Drops
Better than the machine and will cost you less than a quarter
Ingredients
2 tbsp. gelatin
½ cup cold water
2 cups sugar
¾ cup boiling water
Directions
Soft gelatin in cold water.
Combine sugar and boiling water.
Boil 5 minutes.
Add gelatin.
Stir until dissolved.
Boil slowly 15 minutes.
Divide into three portions.
Flavor each portion, and tint with any desired food coloring.
Pour into shallow pans which have been dipped in cold water.
Let stand overnight.
Turn out and cut in squares.
Roll in powdered or granulated sugar.
Let stand until firm.
