Split Pea Soup

Delicious and Easy. Great winter soup for lunch and dinner. I always double this as it is even better the next day.

Ingredients

2 T. butter

1 lg. chopped onion

1 c. chopped celery

1 c. chopped carrots

2 t. dried margorim

1 1/2 c. split peas (dried)

8 c. water

2 ham hocks

1 lb. package ham

Directions

Melt butter.  Add onions, celery, carrots.  Saute until soft - approx 8 min..

Add water, spices, peas, s/p to taste. Bring to a boil.  Reduce and cover.  Cook on med/low for about 1 1/2 hours.

Put ham in food processor and pulse to desired consistency.  Add to soup at end of cooking time and heat through.
