I’m very psyched for your trip to NZ. That will be amazing. My friends in Santa Ynez were there a coupla months ago and we’re psyched to drink the Ata Ranga pinot they brought home with them. Am going to Daniel Johannes’ seminar this morning (in Aspen) on Oregon pinto noir. I will post about it and put a link to your Oregon post.

Thanks for the comment on my Napa post. I will definitely get to a Sonoma post sometime soon. I've got 5 times as many Sonoma wines as Napa in my cellar easily... Although many people these days like to bash the Napa Valley for being the Disney World of wine regions - overblown, overpriced and overcrowded - I never pass up the chance to visit the place where I truly learned to appreciate wine. Especially on a day, like last Saturday, when I have the privilege of exposing two Napa-virgins - my sister Meg and friend Michael - to the birthplace of the modern American wine industry.
