Why I Love it: because it's just so good...
Bread Pudding
This is simply the best bread pudding I have ever had! It's so easy to make I do it blind folded with one hand tied behind my back. Serves 6 or me.
Takes about 1 hour, start to finish.
6
Ingredients
3 large eggs
8 large egg yolks
5 cups cream
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
7 croissants
1 cup sees chocolate chip chunks (or if you don't understand chocolate, you can always use raisins)
baking dish -10x10 square or 10x15 oval no taller than 3" tall
Directions
preheat oven to 350.
whisk eggs, yolks, cream, sugar and vanilla together = egg mixture
slice croissants horizontally -
distribute the (bottom half) of croissants evenly to the bottom of the baking dish
add nothing, chips or raisins -
then add the 2nd layer of croissants (top halves)
pour the entire egg mixture over the croissants - let soak 10-15 minutes
place dish in a larger pan filled with hot water (water bath)- cover both with aluminum foil and punch holes in the foil -
bake 45 minutes covered - then uncover and bake 45 more or until the egg mixture has set -
remove, cool, and eat.
