LIVE (wheat and dairy) FREE: The Bad News About Healthy Eating
After I completely changed my eating habits, I went on to battle co-workers in the lunchroom who made snide remarks about my lunch choices. They actually made fun of me for “eating healthy”. I would feverishly attempt to explain my healthy eating problem with tales of illness, allergies and severe reactions.
Then, a very odd thing would happen. They would be so uncomfortable with my homemade lunch of sautéed kale and baked chicken that they would actually imply that I was making the whole allergy thing up. It was as if they believed my allergy was a cover for this diet I was on to stay gorgeous and skinny. The truth was when I cut out the foods that were making me sick I dropped 25 pounds, became healthy and could not put weight on. Yes. There actually is a relationship between the two.
This phenomenon would regularly occur everywhere food was eaten. I’d be at a party, hanging out around the veggie tray, eating them raw and undipped in the ever-present ranch sauce. Partygoers would look at my plate and say things like “On a diet? You’re already skinny.” There I was again, defending my food plate and telling one more person about my illnesses.
I likened it to when I was in college and there was one person at the party who did not drink. That person would get grilled by the beer swilling coed who asked in accusatory tones, eyes narrowed, swaying back and forth “Why aren’t you drinking? Hic-up.”
So, I suggest to you when you are at a party or in some other food related situation and someone asks you about your “diet”, ask them about theirs. Ask them why they are downing junk food that slowly shuts down their liver, makes them obese and dependant on pharmaceutical drugs to battle the mysterious diseases that have arisen in their bodies. See what they say.

My family actually hassles me more than friends or co-workers. And total strangers I’ve found actually like to ask questions and learn about healthy diets.
Very humorous and a great idea you have about getting people to talk about their own diets. Most people don’t even think about what they are eating when they go to put food in their mouths. Asking about what they consume should raise their level of concern. Kudos!
