gotta eat this: WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO AT LA BBQ FESTIVAL
I’m NOT looking forward to Mr. Cecil’s. Gus’s I’ll try, but wait, it’s chicken, maybe not. Baby Blue I’ve had a thousand times, don’t need to waste energy.
I’ll get there at 11:50 on Saturday morning, somewhere near the Santa Monica Pier, I’ll pay my ten bucks, the “doors” will open and I’ll bee-line for L.C’s BBQ from Kansas City Missouri. Never been to Kansas City, never had a rib in Kansas City. But Kansas City is a mecca of bbq. L.C’s is considered one of KC’s best. Hello, KC.
Next, I’ll try the Elgin Hot Sausages from Southside Market and BBQ in Elgin Texas. Very curious. I’m not a sausage freak, so I’ll either like it or I won’t. But Southside is a classic in Elgin and, by Texas state legislative decree, Elgin is the sausage capital of Texas. So …
Then, I’ll taste the “St. Louis Spare Ribs” from Bandana’s BBQ , St. Louis MO. (Is Bandana’s a chain in Missouri?) In any case, these might seriously rock. We shall see.
Then, I’ll stop torturing my whole family, whom I’ve dragged with me, and we’ll leave. (All the other joints are in L.A. I can go any time.)
